Dolls of India on Exhibit in the Library's Display Case.
"Dolls of India" is currently on exhibit
at the Petersham Memorial Library. This wonderful group of twenty-three
handcrafted dolls was collected from various regions of India by Esther
and Kenneth Potee during their forty years as missionaries from 1921 to
1961. Through layers of finely crafted dress, jewelry, and accessories
the dolls represent different social castes, religious traditions, and
work life of India. The range of colors, textures, and details are a
delight to the eye -- for all ages! The Library cordially invites you
to a Special Reception with Joanne Potee and members of her family on
Saturday, July 23 at 12:00 noon. Please join us! 'Dolls of India" will
be on display through the summer during regular Library hours.
