Petersham Veterans Honored in Library's Display Case.

Display case. The Display Case at the Library has been well used between Memorial Day and the 4th of July, 2005 with an exhibit focused on the veterans of Petersham. The case contains a number of interesting objects including photographs of several Petersham Civil War soldiers led by Captain John Mudge; items from the Petersham Historical Society including a wooden pincer handmade by Germain Legare when he was a Civil War prisoner in Andersonville Prison; and several books including one by World War I nurse and Petersham resident Carolyn Clarke Goodsell.

The display case was created in honor of former Library director and local historian Delight Haines; designed by longtime Library supporter, former trustee, and architect Andy Anderson; and built by John Sammis.
